Annual Fellowship Gathering Events

Annual Membership Meeting

The Annual AUUF Membership meeting takes place in early May (typically the first Sunday in May) to make key decisions through a democratic process.  Materials are sent to members 30 days prior to the meeting, to afford time to consider several actions that are typically on the agenda. These include:

  • Elect Board Members for seats with terms that have expired

  • Elect Members to Certain Committees, such as the Endowment Committee, when vacancies occur or terms expire

  • Discuss and vote on an Operating Budget

  • Discuss and vote on a Capital Budget

  • Discuss and make other financial / fiscal decisions

  • Discuss and take action on Resolutions

Summer Community Picnic

AUUF invites members, friends and the surrounding neighborhood residents to attend a picnic with barbecue fare, and many delicious side dishes contributed by the fellowship.  Along with great food, attendees can expect games, fun and often live music. Event goals are to:

  1. gather members and friends before the busy fall season gets underway, and

  2. exchange greetings and interact with AUUF's neighborhood residents.

Annual Dinner-Auction

The Annual AUUF Dinner and Auction event is held in early November and features a bring-a-dish gathering to share company and time with one another before the holidays.  Typically AUUF's annual volunteer awards are presented during this event (the previous year's winners are pictured below). The silent and live auction event is a major fund-raiser for the fellowship.

Whalecoast Alaska

The Anchorage UU Fellowship hosts UU travelers from around the country who visit Alaska as a dream vacation in mid-June and mid-July. In exchange for AUUF hosting a dinner and for AUUF members providing home-based lodging, guided adventures, and some transportation, the fellowship earns a share of the event proceeds.

For more information about these two fund-raising events, see the Fund-raisers page under GIVING.

Fall Frolic

This annual Fall Frolic is a family event held mid-September at Kings Lake Camp in Wasilla.  The three-day event is organized by the Religious Exploration staff and volunteers. More information is available on the RE Family Programs page.

Special Events

From time to time, AUUF hosts special events for the fellowship and occasionally for the public. These events will be listed here.
